In 2018, the Gas Safe Register launched a brand awareness campaign reminding people not to ‘cut corners’ when it comes to gas safety and check the Register to ensure they use a legally qualified engineer for all gas work. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register to work safely and legally on gas appliances.

New research for Gas Safe Register’s Don’t Cut Corners campaign has found that an alarming 1 in 10 people have said they probably won’t have their gas appliances serviced in the next year, with 5% saying they would try and service their boiler themselves. Other risk areas were also considered and worryingly the poll found that 25% of people do not have a working carbon monoxide alarm.

Whilst some of us may cut corners in some areas of our lives, when it comes to being ‘gas safe’, cutting corners could mean compromising the safety of our loved ones. If you haven’t had your gas boiler serviced in the last 12 months, get in touch today.
